An 18-year-old girl here on Friday accused her mother of forcing her into prostitution and using her to fulfil her political aspirations, police said.
The final curtain for Mumbai's dancing girls Mumbai dance bar owners to petition High Court against ban Mumbai's bar show goes on, for now
The district police chief asked officials to probe the matter, although the mother refuted the allegations and claimed her daughter was being misled.
The girl, who revealed her plight to a TV channel, said she was drugged by her mother, a member of a political party, before being forced into prostitution more than two years ago.
Claiming to have lodged complaints with the police demanding "freedom" from her mother's clutches, she purportedly named several politicians who had physical relationships with her and also accused her brother of raping her several times.
The girl had lodged complaints against her mother in 2005, accusing her of beating her up, but later withdrew them, saying she was misled by two persons, superintendent of police A K Singh told PTI.
On October 27, she complained to the police of "indecent behaviour" by some people visiting her house, he said.
Her mother reported her missing on three occasions, the last time on October 27, Singh said.
The girl would give a statement denying holding any grudge against her family every time she returned home, he said.
"However, after the fresh allegations came to my notice, a city Superintendent of Police has been asked to probe the matter," Singh said.
