sourceA baby is dead and the child's stepfather faces several charges. Investigators say the child's stepfather, Jermaine Reaves faces several charges including aggravated battery and neglect.
"The child was taken to Methodist and sometime between there and later on that day, doctors determined the injuries weren't on-line with what actually was said happened. The very next day detectives placed the step-father under arrest," Capt. Brian Mahone with the Marion County Sheriff's department said.
Detectives said the child died Friday morning.
The prosecutor will decide Monday if Reaves will face additional charges.
Detectives say the mother was out of town when the incident occurred.
